Jurgen Klopp has dismissed recent suggestions that Liverpool are “one-dimensional” after they thrashed Watford 5-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday.

That result comes after a tense, interesting but ultimately goalless encounter on Sunday afternoon against Manchester United that saw the Klopp‘s men move top of the table by a point from Manchester City.

In the aftermath, The Sun claimed that during a post-match talk, Solskjaergave a ‘damning verdict’ on Liverpool’s chances of ending their long wait to win a league title, naming three weaknesses.

The report added that Solskjaer said that the Reds can only play on the counter-attack, find it hard to break teams down with a short passing game and lack creativity.

Not only that but he is also understood to have told his squad that he believes Liverpool are not as good as his United side.

And Klopp seemed to take a swipe at those reports by saying that the win over Watford “showed how smart and intelligent” Liverpool are.

“The boys showed how much they enjoyed the game and the situation,” Klopp told reporters. “It was such an important sign after what was said and written about us – one-dimensional, only one way to play and all those things.

“It is not like this, and today we showed how smart and intelligent we are. We want to play like this, use our power and our skills. That’s how it is.”
